Enhance for cPanel Users
Where Everything Is.
A map from the cPanel jobs you know to where they live in Enhance, how its importer moves an account across, and what you set up again by hand, all from Enhance's own documentation.

First, the words
Enhance names things differently from cPanel and WHM. The terms you will meet first, as Enhance's terminology guide defines them:
- Organisation, sometimes called a customer: the owner of websites, subscribed to packages.
- User: a login. One login can belong to several organisations and switch between them without leaving the panel.
- Reseller: a customer whose plan allows it to create customers of its own.
- Master organisation: whoever installed Enhance and owns the servers, with access to everything beneath it.
- Cluster: the one or more servers that make up a deployment of Enhance. Roles are the services a server in it runs, such as application, email, database, DNS or backup.
The daily jobs, in Enhance
Most of what you did in cPanel happens in Enhance from a website's own dashboard: open Websites in the left sidebar and select the site.
| The job | Where it is in Enhance |
|---|---|
| Add an addon domain, alias or subdomain | Website » Domains » Add domain, then pick the domain type |
| Add an email account or forwarder | Email in the left sidebar » Add account, then choose Mailbox or Forwarder-only |
| Add a database and its user | Website » Databases » Add database; the same form creates the user or picks an existing one |
| Change the PHP version | Website » Advanced » Developer tools » PHP version. Each website has its own; addon domains follow their website's |
| Get an SSL certificate | Nothing to do in most cases: every domain whose DNS points at the server requests a Let's Encrypt certificate on its own, renewed 14 days before it expires. To request one by hand or install your own: Website » Advanced » Security » SSL certificates |
| Add a cron job | Website » Advanced » Developer tools, in its cron jobs section. Enhance's own docs say crontab can't be edited over SSH; since release 12.24.0 (July 3, 2026) you can switch that on in the same section |
| Take a backup | Website » Advanced » Backups » Create backup, if the website's package allows manual backups |
Moving a cPanel account across
Enhance has its own importer for cPanel. It works from a full cPanel account backup, saved as a .tar.gz file. Enhance's importer page lists the cPanel versions whose backups it is compatible with; check your server's version against that list before you plan around it, and if yours is not on it, ask us first. A newer cPanel is not automatically a dead end: Enhance's release notes show the importer being updated for recent changes in cPanel on August 3, 2026, and an import fix after that, on September 13, 2026. The steps, in Enhance:
- Select Website importer in the left sidebar, then New import, then cPanel.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to generate the backup in cPanel and save the
.tar.gzfile to your computer. Click Next step. - Click Choose file, upload the backup, and click Next step.
- Read the review screen. Conflicts are highlighted in red; resolve them before you go on.
- Click Import now.
What comes across
Enhance's documentation lists these as imported:
- The primary website, and its sub, add-on and parked domains, which become mapped domains
- All files and databases, and installed applications
- Email accounts with their passwords and mail, and forwarder-only accounts
- Existing SSL certificates, cron jobs and FTP accounts
- MX records, and TXT records for SPF
What you set up again by hand
The same page lists what the importer does not support. If your account uses any of these, it will not be there after the import:
- PostgreSQL databases
- Wildcard subdomains
- Mailman mailing lists
- Catch-all email addresses and autoresponders
- Calendars and contacts
- Directory privacy (password-protected folders)
- Existing statistics and custom error pages
Before you take the backup, open cPanel and write down every item on that list your account uses: the catch-all address, each autoresponder's text, each mailing list and its members, each protected folder. That note is how you rebuild them in Enhance after the import, and how you check nothing was missed.
Installing Enhance yourself? Enhance's installation guide asks for a blank virtual machine or bare-metal server running Ubuntu 24.04 LTS on x86_64, with at least 2 GB of RAM, a 20 GB disk and 2 CPU cores. It does not support ARM or container platforms such as LXD or Virtuozzo. The installation guide has the one-line installer.
Where to go next
We're Ace-Host: family-held and debt-free since 2003, based in Southfield, Michigan, running our own network (AS22878) on our own hardware. Enhance is one of the panels we offer on our cloud servers, alongside cPanel, Webuzo, DirectAdmin, or no panel at all. If you are weighing it against a server with no panel, our page on leaving cPanel sets the two side by side and walks through the move. Not sure which fits? Start a conversation and a system administrator will talk it through with you.

Moving to Enhance? Plan It With Us.
Tell us what you run today and a system administrator will plan the move with you before you commit to anything. Your sites stay live on your current server until you switch DNS to the new one.
Cancelling a cloud server is one click in your client area, any time, with no notice period and no ticket to open. That is written into the user agreement.
