Ace-Host™ · Two cPanel Alternatives

Leaving cPanel?
Move Once, With Help.

Every cPanel security release means patching every server you run, and the license keeps climbing. Move to a cloud server of your own with the Enhance panel or no panel at all, and plan the move with a system administrator.

✓ Enhance at $0.15/mo per Site ✓ Or No Panel at All ✓ A Sysadmin Plans the Move ✓ Same Owners Since 2003

The License Is Only Part of the Bill

This page is for anyone running cPanel on a server of their own, or on shared hosting somewhere else, who has decided it is time to go. cPanel still works, and we still sell it. The cost of staying is a license priced per account, plus a security release to apply on every server each time cPanel ships one. September 2026 alone added four rows to our dated list of this year's releases, three of them for a flaw that let a hosting account run code as root. Here is what the license alone costs today for a server of your own, at cPanel's monthly list prices (cpanel.net/pricing, checked September 29, 2026):

$29.99cPanel Solo1 account
$35.99cPanel AdminUp to 5 accounts
$53.99cPanel ProUp to 30 accounts

Where You Can Move To

Both run on a cloud server with full root, on either the Shared CPU or the Dedicated CPU tier. The difference is how you want to manage it. Neither is the upgrade from the other.

Cloud Server + Enhance

A modern panel, licensed per website.

Cloud server + $0.15/site
  • One panel across every cloud server you add
  • No per-server license fee
  • Enhance's own importer reads cPanel backups: our Enhance guide
  • Carries files, databases, email & passwords
  • Full root underneath

Cloud Server, No Panel

Your stack, your root shell, no license at all.

Cloud server · root shell
  • No control panel license to pay
  • Run the web server you choose
  • You apply the updates you choose
  • Our step-by-step WordPress guide shows how
  • Full root, your OS

Five sites on Enhance cost 75 cents a month in panel licensing; a five-account cPanel Admin license is $35.99. Not sure which way suits you? Tell us what you run and a system administrator will talk it through with you before you commit to anything.

What Moving Off cPanel Involves

Four steps, in this order. The old server keeps serving your sites until the last one.

1. Count What You Run

Sites, databases, mailboxes, cron jobs, and the PHP version each site needs. That list decides the server size and which way out fits.

2. Set Up the New Server

Pick the tier and the panel, or no panel. A system administrator can set the server up with you rather than handing you a root password and wishing you luck.

3. Copy the Sites Across

On Enhance, its importer takes a cPanel backup and recreates each site. With no panel, you copy files and databases yourself, and email needs a home decided in advance, because a bare server has no mail system until you install one.

4. Test, Then Point DNS

Lower your DNS TTL a day ahead, check each site on the new server, then switch the records. Keep the old server running until the new one has carried your traffic for a while.

What You're Probably Wondering

Do I have to leave cPanel to host here?

No. We sell cPanel shared hosting, cPanel/WHM reseller accounts, and cPanel as a panel choice on any cloud server. This page is for people who have already decided to go, and want to know where to.

Enhance or no panel: which should I choose?

Enhance if you want a panel that you, your team, or your clients can use, across several sites or servers. No panel if you're comfortable at a root shell and would rather run the stack yourself; our OpenLiteSpeed + WordPress guide shows what that looks like, command by command. If you're unsure, start a conversation and we'll recommend one for your use case.

What happens to my email?

Enhance's cPanel importer lists email alongside files, databases, and passwords as what it transfers (enhance.com, checked September 29, 2026). Its documentation also lists what it does not bring across: catch-all addresses, autoresponders, Mailman mailing lists, and calendars and contacts (enhance.com/docs, checked September 30, 2026), so write those settings down before the move and set them up again after it. A server with no panel has no mail system until someone installs one, so decide where mail will live before you move the sites.

Will you move my sites for me?

Tell us what you're running now and a system administrator can set the server up with you and migrate your sites in. Bring the details of what you had on cPanel and we'll plan the cutover around them.

How does Enhance licensing compare with cPanel's?

Enhance charges 15 cents a month for each live website, with no per-server fee. cPanel charges per server by account count: $35.99 a month covers up to five accounts on a server of your own.

Who owns Ace-Host?

Acenet has had the same family owners since 2003, with no outside investors and no debt. The network and hardware are ours, and the system administrator who answers your ticket works here.

Leave cPanel Once, With Help.

Tell us what you run today and a system administrator will plan the move with you before you commit to anything. Your sites stay live on your current server until you switch DNS to the new one.

Cancelling a cloud server is one click in your client area, any time, with no notice period and no ticket to open. That is written into the user agreement.
